The Part-Time Zoo Horticulture and Forestry Maintenance Worker is a semi-skilled position and responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks relating to landscaping and grounds maintenance (may require some contact with animals while working on exhibits).
A Day in the Life:
- This position will take care of the landscaped areas as well as mowing and general horticulture maintenance within the Zoo facilities. Tasks include but are not limited to mowing, trimming, edging, pulling weeds, planting flowers, fixing drainage issues and light irrigation repairs (replace broken head etc..)
- This position may require some contact with animals while working on exhibits.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
- EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required,
- EXPERIENCE: 2 years of horticulture experience.
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Valid Kansas Driver's License
